When first time I have heard about new business idea of Google, that is ‘Google Fiber’, first thing which struck in my mind was, how these traditional telecos going to survive if bandwidth will be offer free to use?.

It will take time to spread country wide network and this gives some relief to all the teleco across the US e.g. Comcast, AT&T and Time Warner

In current Kansas City, Austin and Provo, Utah are among three cities chosen by Google to roll out network  to start its inception in this business

The idea behind this business is to offer high bandwidth internet  for free to end customer on top of it Google will run entire advertising business that will stream a new revenue from corporates going to use Google network for marketing .

Reliance Globalcom sell its stake to Batelco

Reliance communication

Reliance Communication is going to sell stake in its subsidiary company Reliance Globalcom to Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco).

After this stake sale reliance will remain in minority stock of 20% and Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) will own 80% of the company share.

The deal was seized in 6000 cr. INR (Apps $1.2 Billion) and will be completed in two to eight weeks. However no confirmation yet came out from Reliance officilly.

The company has also made an attempt to secure its footprint in indian telecom space when acquire 49% stake in  STel but after the Supreme Court cancelled 122 licences, company had to shutdown its operation.

MTS will shutdown its services in UP East Circle

MTS is going to shutdown its services at UP East circle from Wednesday onwards. The telecom Operator has a 1.5 Lakh subscriber base in the region. All the subscriber left with no option other than to port out with other services operators in area however MTS spokesman told to the correspondence that they have already informed to all subscribers.

This shutdown will affect major cities like Kanpur, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Sitapur, Varanasi and Allahabad. The telecom operator’s service will stop in these areas after April 10 midnight. UP West and Uttarakhand circle that comprises major cities like Agra, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Nainital and Dehradun services will remain unaffected due to this decision.
