Apple is now expected to announce its long-rumoured smaller iPad tablet next week, with an expected price tags ranging from US$320 for a basic model up to the top model at US$840.
Citing documents from European mobile networks, Germany’s MobileGeeks reported a number of mini iPad models are being planned.
If the details are correct, then the Wi-Fi models would cost $320, $450, $580, and $710 for the 8-, 16-, 32-, and 64-GB models, respectively. The cellular+Wi-Fi models would cost $450, $580, $710, and $840 for the 8-, 16-, 32-, and 64-GB models, respectively.
However, the blog warned that the prices maybe just “holding numbers” entered into the inventory system prior to the final retail price being announced.
By comparison, the basic model of the full-size iPad 2 sells for US$399, and the iPad 3 starts at US$499.
The mini iPad, which will probably have a 7-inch screen is expected to be shown off at a press conference on the 23rd October.
